Teaching Alive is a project that provides on-line teaching videos and resources to promote different methods of learning through seeing, listening and doing.  We use mnemonics and stories to generate pictures and actions throughout our videos to support learning and have some fun.

Whether you are learning from home yourself, a parent/carer looking for support or a teacher looking for new ideas, the links below provide online teaching videos and resources.

Home teaching  lessons are aimed at only the learning objective with differentiation provided through choice of video and activity choice.

Class teaching lessons are aimed at a group of learners with different abilities; differentiation is provided through examples, support & extension videos and activities.

Explain It lessons are aimed at self-educators or teachers to explain complex or difficult concepts through analogies, pictures and simple explanation.

Videos are available with video narration, audio narration (on request) and as PowerPoints (on request). We have different types of videos to reflect the different methods of learning which you can see below:

Stages of Learning:

Show It!
Show it videos involve learners seeing their learning. We use manipulatives such as Numicon, Dienes, number lines and counters in Maths. In writing, acting and drama are used for learners to internalise and inspire.

Learn It!
Learn it videos are the direct teaching videos using pictures and actions to make learning fun and memorable.

Practise It!
We then practise our learning together where we Write It! and give time for learners to have a go when they Talk It!. There is then an independent choice of activity varying in challenge represented by a choice of chilly.

A Check It! link allows the marking and evaluation of any activities.

Investigate It!
We take our learning and use it help us answer real life problems.

Prove It!
We challenge and prove our learning using evidence in different contexts to justify.

Use It!
Drama and acting to use learning in relevant contexts and stories.
