Teaching Alive was born from our experience teaching in Wales, England and abroad, combined with a background in ICT.

Throughout our teaching careers, we consistently encountered the same issues when using the many resources, schemes and frameworks available, whether that was due to lack of availability, funding, logic, detail or understanding.  This was in addition to the different challenges presented in high achieving schools and schools with specific challenges, including assessment and curriculum changes and demands on an Assistant Head, Assessment Leader, Key Stage Leader and Class Teacher both in England and Wales. As a result, we put our thoughts and ideas together in an effort to take the pressure off teachers and learners, allowing them to achieve, whilst still allowing creativity and imagination to survive in the ever changing teaching environment. We based our ideas on Bloom’s Taxonomy of Learning and a methodology was created – Teaching Alive.

An ICT background helped in this creation, as it allowed us to apply problem solving strategies to the work flows involved in teaching.  It gave us the tools to manage and promote the information through animation, database, coding and design.

Teaching Alive then came ‘alive’ through contacts and links in the animation industry with Rumble Studios and IronTown Interactive and in creative writing with the prize winning author John Mole.
